Project Description: 

The goal of this project is to commemorate and celebrate the history of the black neighborhoods that make up the Fayetteville Street Corridor. Signs will be placed along the corridor to capture written and pictorial history of past and present Fayetteville Street local heroes and historical events that shaped the communities, and in totality, the city of Durham.

Seven monuments will be installed to memorialize Stokesdale, Pearsontown, Southside / St. Teresa, Hillside Park, NC Central University, and the entrance and exit to Hayti.
